Thanks.  In fact I think you read INSTALL.linux~ and not INSTALL.linux
since I cannot find the word ROOTVOLUME.  I have removed the emacs backup
file to avoid confusion.

The STARTFROMBOOT file _is_ created by answering "yes" to the question
vice-setup asks about starting at boot time.
