RPC2-Problem

I installed a 2nd server. All worked fine 'til I wanted to create a volume

[root_at_argus db]# createvol_rep tmp.rep1 E0000102 /vicepa
/usr/sbin/createvol_rep: [: too many arguments
Servers are (devil argus )
HexGroupId is 7F000014
creating volume tmp.rep1.0 on devil
V_BindToServer: binding to host devil.hrz.tu-chemnitz.de
RPC2_NewBinding to server devil.hrz.tu-chemnitz.de failed with
RPC2_NOBINDING (F)
Failure to make volume on devil!. Abort..

The entries in /etc/services are correct, all daemons are running on both
servers:

root 24255 0.0 0.9 1096 616 ? S 22:48 0:00 auth2
-chk
root 24277 0.0 1.9 3908 1232 ? S 22:48 0:00 codasrv -t 1000
-trunc 5 -debarrenize -nosalvageonshutdown -nodumpvm -rvm /dev/sdb1
/dev/sdb5 79380480
root 25029 0.0 0.7 908 468 ? S 23:14 0:00 rpc2portmap
root 25032 0.1 1.4 1600 932 ? S 23:14 0:00 updatesrv -p
/vice/db
root 25036 0.1 1.4 1572 888 ? S 23:14 0:00 updateclnt -h
argus -q coda_udpsrv

On the 2nd machine /vice/srv/UpdateClntLog brings:

Date: Wed 11/04/98

23:15:07 Update Client pid = 17875 started at Wed Nov 4 23:15:07 1998

23:19:08 Updated /vice/db/servers

23:19:08 Fopen failed for file server pid file with No such file or
directory

I don't know the problem, but I know until I've started creating the
volume all seemed to run fine.

Oh, on the non-SCM /vice/auth2/AuthLog tells:

Starting Auth Server......
Assertion failed: file
"/usr/src/redhat/BUILD/coda-4.6.6/coda-src/auth2/auth2.c", line 384
