The most common reason for venus to get killed, is because /coda cannot 
be mounted. One possible reason is because the coda kernel module cannot
be loaded, but you managed to connect to testserver, so that's not it.

Another reason is that /coda is still mounted from running venus 
earlier. Try to unmount (umount) /coda and restart.
