Which version of pdbtool and venus are you using ?  Seem that my 
pdbtool (from vanila coda-debug-server-5.2.4-1 rpm) is working
fine, although I don't understand why it assigns such a large id.

pdbtool> nu test
pdbtool> l test
test's id is 768001
