Moving files in /vicepa to a new disk

I want to move my /vicepa partition to a faster disk drive.
I'm planning to turn off the coda server, use tar to copy the files
from the old partition to the new partition, and then change
fstab to map the new partition back to /vicepa. BTW, the
new partition is larger than the old one, but I'm moving it
to gain some speed, not the extra size.

Will that work?
