Actually my earlier post had both errors, but it seems -6 is the only
one I get when running venus on the server itself (the other error only
on other machines trying to connect to this server).

Both commands worked without errors, but didn't make any difference.
:-(  The filesystem on the server is ext3, but another post to this
mailing list reported that there are no problems with using ext3fs on
server or client.

There is no replica of 7f000000.  7f000000 (the root volume) is just
meant to be on the main server, 7f000001 to 7f000004 are meant to be
replicated on another server.  Here are VRList and VSGDB:
