Coda File System

[64b kernel-module] our interest is still alive :)

Hello,

in the role of TODO cron job :)
I'm expressing the interest in running a 64-bit Solaris Coda kernel
module...

Just for you to know that there is some interest.

Another point of interest is the dangerous-to-have-access-to Windows
client. Still non-disclosure? Would cygwin
localhost-samba-server-combined-with-venus do the trick? It might be not
too hard to implement with a suitable library layer, combining fs kernel
interface and venus kernel interface - thus eliminating the need to
interact through the kernel.

At least it might be the fallback solution when Microsoft moves to a
kernel interface incompatible with the proprietary development kit you
used?

Essentially such library layer would produce a general coda client
interface for any kind of system - on Unices one might link an nfs server
with the library and you are done. Even no recompile if you have got a
user space server - use LD_PRELOAD...

That would mean e.g. Mac (OS X) support at once, and a lot of other
systems.

Best regards,
