Hi, again (was here starting a little less than a year ago). I just couldn't 
stay away from something so cool!!

Anyway, the .spec in 
http://www.coda.cs.cmu.edu/pub/coda/linux/RedHat-SRPMS/coda-debug-6.0.12-1.src.rpm 
is "coda-*6.0.12-1.spec" (yes, including the asterisk).

Also noted that rpc2.spec in 
http://www.coda.cs.cmu.edu/pub/coda/linux/RedHat-SRPMS/rpc2-1.28-1.src.rpm 
sets "BuildRoot: %{_buildroot}/rpc2-1.28/Root", which then literally uses 
root:
[root_at_aspen SPECS]# ls /
bin            coda  home    lost+found  mnt   root     srv  usr
boot           dev   initrd  media       opt   sbin     sys  var
%{_buildroot}  etc   lib     misc        proc  selinux  tmp

Either way, all installed fine, so I'm off to vice-setup, venus-setup, etc. 
FWIW, system is Whitebox 4, a RedHat clone...
